ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Montessori School of Beaverton (MSB) is seeking a Lower Elementary Assistant to join our teaching team. The assistant will support the teacher and children with effective communication, modeling positive conflict resolution, and supporting a self-managing classroom. The assistant will also support daily routines, lessons, follow-up work, and classroom management.
MSB is a private school serving the Portland metro area. The school was established in 1978 and is located in the northwest hills on a  beautiful 6-acre campus. MSB is home to a thriving and vibrant community of dedicated staff and families invested in the education, development and nurturing of its 170 children, ages 3-12.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- A Montessori diploma (AMI or AMS) - any level will be considered
- Reliability and the ability to follow instructions in support of the teacher and children
- An understanding of the children’s needs through observation, modeling, and redirection  
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- The flexibility and responsibility necessary to be part of a team supporting children

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Preferred: 2-3 years’ work experience in a Montessori environment
• Support program needs including, but not limited to, camping trips, field trips, and other classroom projects
- Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry
- CPR/First Aid certified or the ability to attain certification

General Information & Benefits Include:
• Position dates: August 18, 2025 – June 12, 2026
• Typical hours 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday during the school year; may vary to meet program needs
        • Paid holidays
• Hiring wage range $22.01 to $24.73/hour depending on experience
